My apologies for the late post. Jeremy’s sweet grandmother passed away this week. I shared a long time ago that she was suffering from Alzheimer’s and it grew progressively worse since then and I am so glad that now she is WHOLE again in a much better place! As you know, we are up to our foreheads in a BIG project so we literally pressed fast forward on our work load so that we could attend the funeral. When it rains, it pours, huh?! The good news is there are no signs of imminent labor, as Will says “G.G. is eating candy in heaven!” and we have awesome friends and family who help us when we need it! In celebration of our big project with Rust-Oleum, we are hosting Rust-Oleum week chock full of smaller fun projects and here is the next one….
We had a bunch of random leftover exterior wood and we decided to put those scraps to work (we did need to buy a few extra 2×2’s for this project) in the form of a modern plant stand.
The first thing we needed was a octagon shaped base made from 3/4″ plywood. Each side is 6″ long. We also needed more legs than a Victoria’s Secret runway show. We cut 16 legs to be 15″ each out of the 2×2’s.
The legs were attached using exterior screws straight through the legs into the plywood. They were placed evenly on each side and there was roughly 4″ left of the 2×2″ above the plywood for a cool graphic effect.
I stained it Rust-Oleum’s American Walnut and put it outside and I LOVE how unique it looks. The color really pops against the white pot and the brick of our house. I think it would especially cool if there was a potted plant with a “spiller” plant in it so that it gives a peekaboo effect.
We have tons of other projects to share so I can’t wait to show you them! Kid stuff, home decor, and even entertaining/event stuff! I can’t wait!
